Referral Program Terms
Last updated: April 14, 2026
1. Covered Programs
These terms govern HubbCentral's consumer referral, provider-to-provider (B2B), and partner recruiter programs. They supplement the Terms of Service.
2. How Commissions Are Funded
Referral commissions are funded from HubbCentral's platform fee, not by charging extra amounts to the provider or customer. HubbCentral always retains a minimum platform share and may cap aggregate referral payouts where needed to preserve platform economics.
3. Current Program Structure
- Consumer referral program: up to three levels, currently 5% / 3% / 1% of the commission base.
- B2B provider referral program: up to three levels, currently 3% / 2% / 1% of the commission base, subject to acceptance.
- Partner recruiter program: currently 1% on approved provider recruit relationships.
4. When Commissions Are Earned
- Commissions accrue only on verified, completed, paid jobs.
- No commissions are earned on signups alone.
- B2B referrals accrue only after the referred provider accepts the relationship.
- Enterprise jobs use the eligible labor/service amount as the commission base; direct material pass-through is excluded.
5. B2B Acceptance Window
When a provider is referred by another provider, the referred provider must accept or decline the referral within 30 days. If no action is taken within 30 days, HubbCentral may decline the referral relationship automatically. B2B commissions do not accrue retroactively before acceptance.
6. Payout Timing and Thresholds
- Referral earnings remain subject to dispute, fraud, refund, tax, and compliance review before any external disbursement or release.
- HubbCentral may use a minimum referral payout threshold, currently $25, before enabling an external disbursement cycle.
- HubbCentral may begin internal tax-compliance review once referral earnings approach $500, even if legal reporting thresholds have not yet been reached.
- HubbCentral may require Stripe onboarding, W-9, W-8BEN, or similar tax documentation before enabling or releasing referral disbursements, and may request a corrected secure replacement if a prior upload is rejected or incomplete during review.
7. Reversals and Clawbacks
If a job that generated referral earnings is refunded, charged back, reversed, or found to be fraudulent, HubbCentral may reverse the corresponding commission entries, offset the amount against current or future referral earnings, or pursue other lawful recovery. Per-job commission ledger records control when determining reversals.
8. Tax Reporting
Referral commissions are taxable income. You are solely responsible for reporting and paying applicable taxes. HubbCentral may collect tax identification information once your earnings approach internal review thresholds and will issue tax forms when required by law.
For U.S. participants, Form 1099-NEC commonly becomes relevant at $600 or more in reportable nonemployee compensation. Form 1099-K follows a different rule set and, under current federal thresholds, generally applies only above $20,000 in gross volume and more than 200 transactions where that form is the appropriate reporting method.
Stripe does not automatically remove HubbCentral's tax-reporting responsibilities for these programs when HubbCentral controls platform pricing or commission economics. Legal thresholds can change, so HubbCentral may request documentation or hold disbursements earlier than the final year-end filing threshold.
When HubbCentral provides a secure tax-document upload workflow, you must use that workflow instead of placing SSNs, EINs, or similar taxpayer-identification values into general notes, chat messages, outreach copy, or free-text fields. Recruiter workflow screens may record secure upload status, but support review instructions still control how sensitive tax information is handled.
9. Anti-Fraud Rules
- No fake accounts, self-referrals, shared-control household gaming, fabricated jobs, or circular chains.
- No misleading income claims or misrepresentation of HubbCentral's services or rates.
- No automated signup farming or evasion of platform review.
- Referral invitations and recruiter outreach must be permission-based. You may contact only people or businesses you reasonably know, have consent to contact, or are otherwise permitted to message under applicable law.
10. Rate Changes and Program Changes
HubbCentral may modify rates, structure, or eligibility on at least 30 days' prior notice. Changes apply prospectively to jobs completed after the effective date unless HubbCentral states otherwise in writing.
11. No Guaranteed Income
Referral examples, calculators, and projections are hypothetical only. Actual results depend on completed paid jobs in real networks, and HubbCentral does not guarantee any level of income.
12. Termination
HubbCentral may suspend or terminate referral participation for fraud, inactivity, non-cooperation, tax-compliance failures, payout failures, or policy violations. Upon termination, no new commissions accrue. Cleared commissions already earned may be paid in the normal cycle unless they remain subject to dispute, reversal, or investigation.
